I’ll be the first to admit that I have a problem. I love to buy dresses but sometimes have found it hard to wear the same one multiple times because I get stuck in the mindset of repeat. Repeat is not that exciting for me, as someone who loves to dress up. What I found is that you can give a dress, or an outfit, a completely different look & feel by simply changing the shoes.
Take a look at this baby doll dress. First, the dress itself is adorable and has a great fit & flow. I love pairing this dress with sneakers, not only because they are comfortable, but it also plays down on the dressiness factor. Pairing with sneakers allows for me to be comfortable & cute while running errands, hanging with my kids or meeting a friend for a patio lunch. Now when I pair it with a white bootie, I see more of a date night look. Still extremely comfortable but maybe less likely to be worn while I am chasing after my kids.
Here are a few other ways that you could change up the look of this dress…
1) Black (Knee) High Boots: You could really jazz up this dress, perfect for a night on the town, by pairing with knee high boots. I recommend black for this specific dress but there are so many styles & colors out there that could potentially work as well.
2) Loafers or Mules: This pair of loafers would go perfectly with this dress for the cutest business casual office look. I also love mules because they are easy to slide right in to and go!
3) Sandals: There are so many different variations to sandals and each one of them would give this dress a completely different look & feel. Depending on what your plans are or even what your personal style is, you could pair this dress with any of these.
Once again, I completely transform the feel and look of this skirt & graphic tee combo by switching up the shoes. Sneakers giving it a casual, everyday feel and the booties dressing it up just a touch. You could pair this outfit with any of the above shoes as well.
Have an outfit that you love but are tired of wearing it the same way? Throw it on and try on all of your shoes with it. I think you will be surprised on how much the look will change!
