Although this has been a slower time for some, it’s been much busier for me. As a mom of little’s & a business owner, I’m finding that my work hours have shifted to 5 am to 10 pm or later. I’m physically and emotionally exhausted. Don’t take this the wrong way, I’m not complaining. Not at all. I am thankful that I can still work and I am thankful for the time with my family, even with the added stress. What I have found though is that it has been important to give myself a little time each day, just time for something that I want. I saw that some one was starting a virtual book club so I thought I should give it a try. I couldn’t even tell you the last time I picked up a book and actually read it. I started off a little behind and didn’t even pick it up until last night. I probably should have been working but I knew mentally I just didn’t have the capability so I read. It felt so good! I encourage you all to find a little time for yourself. Maybe to do something new or something you haven’t had time to do in a long time. Just make time. It will be so good for your mental health and you won’t regret it!
Here are some of ideas to get some time to yourself. Remember it’s OK to ask your spouse or children for help and the time to have just for YOU!
Read a book
Paint your nails
Go on a drive by yourself
Watch something you normally wouldn’t
Go on a walk by yourself
Online Shopping (you don’t even have to buy, sometimes it’s just fun to look!)
Virtual happy hour with friends
Take a bath (a really long one!)
Virtual music (piano, guitar, etc.) lessons
Online Education (lots of universities are giving out free programs or classes right now)
Stay positive and give yourself grace mamas! We are in this together!
