Welcome to the Business Minded Mama Podcast, where I share my own journey and help mamas like you cultivate their community and flourish their business!
I share my journey that lead me to start a podcast and why I believe starting a podcast is the next step for me. As a mama that is passionate about growing her community and creating a space for women to share and learn, I found myself circling the idea of starting a podcast for a while. I love to listen to podcasts and hope that by starting a podcast, I will be able to pour out knowledge and empower mamas to chase their business dreams!
I speak into my story and the path that has led me to my mission: inspiring women to invest in themselves, their goals, and their own small businesses. After connecting with my community on my blog, through social media, and through my business, I felt that starting a podcast would be the perfect way to reach my mamas where they are in their lives.
I know mom life is hectic, and the thought of running a small business on top of everything else can feel overwhelming. So, join me weekly, whenever and wherever you are and join me in my journey of starting a podcast that gives you the tools and insight you need to launch your small business.
Hello, today, I wanted to talk about why I chose to do a podcast and what my mission is here. I briefly touched on that in the first episode, if you listened to that already, but just wanted to go through that again and give a clear picture of what you may expect when you come to this podcast. So let me start off with a little more about myself and the fact that my husband looked at me, like I was crazy when I brought up podcast and there are many reasons, mostly because I’ve come up with many ideas over the last year or two of things I’d like to try to grow my business. Some of them I moved forward with and some of them I’ve put on the burner or decided ultimately that it wasn’t the right path. So I’m not faulting him.
I am not saying that he shouldn’t have given me the look that he did, but I find it funny because it’s the dose of, yeah, that’s me. Yep. I’m always going on to the next big thing. But for me, I think this podcast is my next big thing and this is where I’m supposed to be. So why do I think that, it’s a feeling, a feeling that I had a feeling that I have, and I prayed about it. And really if this doesn’t work out and I’m not here in a year or two years or tomorrow, I guess. You know what, I tried and I had fun and hopefully I’ve served at least one of you with whatever episodes I do get out here into the public. The other reason why I chose podcasting is I really took a step back and said, where am I spending my time?
Two years ago, I was spending my time on Instagram. So I jumped in Instagram and it’s been wonderful and I’ve built up my community and I cannot say that I regret it at all. And I’ll still be there. But recently I’ve been in podcast mode. I listen to podcasts daily. It’s where I go to seek knowledge. It’s where I go to seek additional community and so it just felt right. I truly believe that this podcast will allow me to serve more of you then I could just on my own, the way I’ve been doing things. And I’m really looking forward to helping all of you mamas build the business of your dreams. My love for small business. It goes back approximately 11 years to a little pink house in Brookside and area of Kansas city, Missouri. There was a little boutique that was in this pink house and it was really the first time that I remember appreciating small business so much. Now she’s moved on to another building, but I’m still shopping at that boutique and still in contact with that business owner. It’s so wonderful to see a small business grow and thrive and shift and pivot. And really, I attribute that first moment to the spark in my soul for small business. And while I love local boutiques, I really advocate for anybody who is starting a small business and trying to make something their own. My mission here on this podcast is to give you tips and tools that helped you either start your business or grow your current business so that hopefully you can make an impact in your community. I hope to inspire and empower all of you mamas out there to stay true to your passions, to invest in yourself. Of course, while still being the most amazing mother ever. There is no reason why you can’t have the best of both worlds, your mama journey, as a busy mama and business owner. I know your time is valuable. So I plan to give you the most value in the shortest amount of time possible. Hopefully during your carpool or during nap time, you can check in here weekly to gain knowledge and find inspiration on how to grow your small business. I hope that gives you a better picture of what I plan to do here on this podcast. So thank you for tuning in, and I hope to see you on here next time.
